All About Air Compressors

Someone wanted to charge me $1600 to replace this thing. I’ve looked for the part on the internet, and it looks to be roughly $360ish. My next question is…if it is reasonably impossible to replace myself (I’m not a car expert) then how much should I be charged for something like this? What if I bought the part myself?

Without some knowledge of a/c units you could end up spending 4 to 500 dollars & still have a broken a/c if you do it yourself. Get some bids on the repair work from others to keep them honest. You probably don’t have a vacuum pump to remove air & moisture from the system or the gages to properly fill it either.
