A old 2Hp Air compressor motor i pulled off a stuffed tank, fixed the wiring and she runs. Its only going to be used for blowing air onto parts to clean them, as i work with computers mostly i needed something a bit stronger to get rid of the dust and fluff that builds up in a pc over time. Its perfect for what i need it for.
Lol dont mind the garden hose, thats only for now.

http://www.techbricks.nl technic LEGO pneumatic air compressor tested with a Mindsensor pressure sensor. The Compressor is powered by a RC Buggy motor. It has 4 small pneumatic pumps. One small pneumatic cylinder is pressed out when pressure is building up. At a pressure of 28 psi the cylinder push the pole reverse electric LEGO switch which turns off the motor. When air is released, the motor will turn on at about 15 psi. Take a look at: http://www.techbricks.nl/My-pneumatic-LEGO-projects/pneumatic-compressor.html

A few ppl have asked for more info on using a fridge compresssor as an air pump in the past so I thought I’d show y’all my silent compressors to give an idea on how to construct one.
The most important thing is a pressure regulator and cut-out switch to ensure the tank dosn;t over pressurize and burst. these compressors can put out a lot of pressure.
The Tandem SC15’s that i have as a permanent workshop compressor barely become warm when charging the tank from dead flat to 100 PSI, they are rated at roughly 3/4 HP each and have no trouble seating tire beads, spray painting or running a small sand blaster.

I decided to tear this pump down and demonstrate it before binning it, I’ve already done a few vids on rotary compressors before but theirs no harm in doing more detailed ones ![]()
Its from a single phase 240V powered 7.1Kw split unit that was scrapped because of a bad compressor motor.(short to earth)

I bought this 5hp, 150PSI, 20 gallon Craftsman Professional compressor on Friday (2/13) from a concrete construction company for $26. One guy said it wouldn't start at all, and two other guys said it would start, fill the tank, and die. We had always wanted to get one of these so we can use air tools up in the woods where the tractors are. I figured if the engine was shot, I had the exact same Honda GC160 laying on a shelf doing nothing I could pull off all the parts I might need. Take a …

http://www.techbricks.nl LEGO pneumatic air compressor using large pumps and Power Function motors. The air pressure is regulated by a Power Function pole reverser switch and a cylinder. The Mindsensors pressure sensor for Mindstorms NXT is used to measure the pressure.
